Grant attended DeMatha Catholic High School in Hyattsville, Maryland where as a senior in 2011–12, he averaged 12.5 points in 23 games. Considered a four-star recruit by ESPN.com, Grant was listed as the No. 11 power forward and the No. 37 player in the nation in 2012
